Change for Equality: October 31, 2008: Sussan Tahmasebi, a member of the One Million Signatures Campaign, appeared at the security branch of the investigative court of the Revolutionary Courts on Wednesday October 29, 2008, along with one of her lawyers Zohreh Arzani. Tahmasebi was interrogated for over 5 hours by officials from the Ministry of Intellegence and Security and her lawyer was not allowed to be present during the interrogation session. According to the Security officials who interrogated her the interrogations are part of ongoing investigations and will continue. A group of activists from the One Million Signatures Campaigners, especially members of the Mothers Committee, accompanied Tahmasebi to Court, and waited outside until her interrogation session was over.

On Sunday October 26, Sussan Tahmasebi, women’s rights defender, was stopped at the airport, while enroute to the US, to visit family and speak at several conferences. Her passport was confiscated and she was barred from travel. A few hours later, security officials showed up at her home, with an order for search and seizure of property. While filming the premises, they seized her computer, CDs, hand written notes, notebooks and other personal belongings and provided her with a summons to appear in court. In court on Wednesday October 30th, Tahmasebi was not provided with any information about the status of her travel ban or her seized property.
